Let’s get the formal stuff out of the way. I have a BS in Ornamental Horticulture from NC State University. I am a Licensed Irrigation Contractor, Licensed General Contractor and Registered Landscape Contractor. All of this just means I have been around for a while. I joined New Garden in 1991 as a member of the Sales/Design Team. I currently am a Customer Relationship Manager for all services New Garden offers.
My Dad was a florist and I was exposed to plants at an early age. That is part of why I ended up in horticulture. I enjoyed it growing up and still enjoy it every day. Another reason I love what I do is that every day, every job, every person I meet is different.
There are so many variables in the landscape. My job is to help the client bring their vision to reality. This is where experience makes a difference. I look at each project as if it were my own. I take all of the variables (drainage, sunlight, slope, etc.) into account and help them create a landscape that is functional and beautiful.
Outside of work, I spend most of my time around family functions. Even though my daughters are grown, we see them and the grandchildren often. We love NC State and tailgating at football games. I play golf when I can, enjoy travel and like some good barbeque.
