I started with New Garden in 1997 just after my wife and I relocated from Rochester NY. The year around work and warmer temperatures was a welcome change but the great people of Greensboro and the family like atmosphere at New Garden has kept us here. My first position with New Garden was in nursery sales and merchandising as well as assisting in the buying of shrubs. Shortly after moving the garden center to Garden Village Way I was moved into the village store manager position.
Currently I am the green goods buyer for both retail and landscape services. New Garden is working hard to buy predominantly North Carolina-grown plant material. Most of my time is spent working with our suppliers to deliver the best quality plant material to our clients.
Although I’m not in the retail stores all the time, I do enjoy working on weekends during the busy parts of the year. One of my favorite things is to help a customer find that plant which inspires them to get into their yard and have fun.
I enjoy spending time with my wife Ellen and two dogs Zoie and Sadie, working in the yard and vacationing at the beach. Ellen and I have a great group of family and friends who enjoy getting together often.
